Ready to start your veterinary career somewhere that actually backs you? Not just “supports” you. Backs you. This position has opened in Millicent, our larger clinic. Spots in our team don’t come up often. Our original new graduates are still with us ten years later. That’s either a very good sign… or they just fell in love here. Either way, we’re proud of it. Don’t worry they are not leaving just a couple of them are expanding our next generation. Our team work across both our Millicent and Kingston SE clinics, giving you a diverse caseload, varied team dynamics, and strong connections across the practice. The region offers a stunning coastline with surfing, wineries, festivals, and plenty of outdoor activities. It’s a rural community close to larger centres, with a friendly town vibe, local sports, and easy Friday knockoff drinks.
We enjoy working with a skilled mixed-animal team of vets who have mastery across large and smallanimal internal medicine, surgery and even pocket pets. Our small animal caseload is diverse and sits alongside a substantial, highly engaged production-animal client base. We carry a significant pregnancy testing, bull testing, ram vasectomy, herd health consultancy and emergency caseload. This is a true mixed practice. The kind that builds competence quickly and confidence properly. Large animal work is shared. You’ll be stretched — but never stranded.
Our Large Animal Director, DrSean McGrath, is a regular presenter at Sheep and Cattle Vet conferences and contributes to national livestock health research while mentoring finalyear students. To help you learn all things related to the humans we serve, our Co Director, DrSarah McGrath, leads client experience and the art communicating well, she has also been recognised with an award for thought leadership and her contribution to our profession. The vet team are supported by the heart of our clinic — our client services team, our dedicated nurses, and the steady guidance of our finance and operations managers.
Why we are proud of our workplace We’re a proud, highperforming crew because we genuinely respect each other’s skills and the different life stories we all bring to the table —We’re all still learning, still growing, still messing things up sometimes, and always trying to make life better for each other and for our clients. We don’t take ourselves too seriously, but when it’s time to switch on and get the job done, we absolutely do. We’ve gone from average to intentional leaders. New grads aren’t here to nod quietly. You have a voice, you bring ideas, and you help challenge “the way we’ve always done it.” And we listen. Shame and blame is not part of how we do things here. Our entire team learn soft skills not just technical ones and how to connect with clients in a realistic way that meets their needs. We work in a safetofail, quicktoownit environment. Mistakes are debriefed, not buried. We share cases openly because a good team asks questions, and great teams keep asking them. Our ancillary staff are also registered with professional associations and supported to do continuing education too. Our entire team matters. Which we think is pretty bloody cool.
