Emergency & Critical Care Veterinarian (DACVECC or Residency-Trained)

Greater Staten Island Veterinary Services (GSiVS) is looking to bring a Board-Certified or residency-trained Criticalist onto our well-established, rapidly growing 24-hour emergency and specialty hospital.

Located in the southern borough of Staten Island, our hospital is an easy commute from Manhattan, Brooklyn, and the other NYC boroughs, with New Jersey and Philadelphia just a short drive away. It's a great place to live and work, with easy access to beaches, sports, the arts, Broadway, several airports, parks, shopping, and more. Our culture is collaborative and fun, and veterinarians throughout the area have trusted our family of hospitals with their referrals for over twenty years. This location lets us bring emergency and referral veterinary care closer to home for our established client base, as well as for new clients throughout Staten Island.

How You'll Make a Difference
GSiVS sees a diverse caseload of emergency and referral patients. As our Critical Care specialist, you'll work alongside our board-certified surgeon and ER doctors to serve the clients and patients of Staten Island with cutting-edge medical and diagnostic care. You'll guide the Critical Care department and support our emergency and surgical teams through consultation and case management, while helping elevate the knowledge and skill of our licensed veterinary technicians and assistants so they can provide the best possible care. As the only boarded Criticalist on Staten Island, you'll also serve as a key point of contact for referring veterinarians, strengthening collaboration and improving patient care across the borough.

Qualifications
    DVM/VMD from an AVMA-accredited veterinary college (or equivalent)

    Board certification in Emergency and Critical Care (DACVECC) or completion of an ACVECC-approved Emergency and Critical Care residency

    Active or eligible veterinary license in New York State

    Strong communication and case-management skills, with a collaborative approach to working alongside referring veterinarians and hospital staff

Schedule
    4-day work week

    No weekends

Compensation & Benefits
    Starting base salary of $250,000, plus additional production-based compensation
